News Desk: Malegaon Additional District Collector Yashwant Sonawane, whose gruesome murder was the sensational news on the eve of Republic Day, is a real Hero in true sense for sacrificing his life for sake of duty.
On the broad day light, the bureaucrat was burnt alive during conducting raids on illegal kerosene hoarding at Manmad in Nashik district of Maharashtra. The attitude of sycophancy or corrupt mindset could have made him alive, but the honest officer embraced death serving his best for the nation and that could be the best gift to our mother land a day before the Republic Day celebration.
The Chief Minister of Maharashtra has announced to pay Rs. 25 lakh to his family and the oil mafia Popat Shinde was arrested along with and 10 others. But such things cannot give justice to his soul. The mission he had started to counter the oil mafia should be completed.
How many officers will come forward following Sonawane's foot step, time will say. But the corruption should be rooted out to save our genuine patriots.
In a true Bollywood style, the officer was set on fire who had recorded the pilfering of kerosene on his mobile phone and trying to call the police. He was not alone on the spot. He was accompanied by his personal assistant Raju Kale and driver Kailash Gawali. The oil mafia had also tried to set them on fire, but luckily, they escaped.
Raju Kale said that Sonawane found the driver of a fuel tanker transferring the kerosene containers to another truck and he recorded the entire scene on his mobile phone.
The entire story sounds like a film, but here the artist was a real hero showed his chivalry. The Centre has come forward with new strategy to reduce the oil adulteration.
The Maharashtra Government has already launched a massive crackdown on oil mafias after the incident and over 250 people have been taken into custody for adulteration in oil, milk and food items. Will the government complete the mission undertaken by Sonawane?
