SpaceX to list today on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol "SPCX" - marking the largest IPO in history at $75 billion (the company is launching at a price of $135 per share, commanding MCAP of $1.7 trillion). This debut instantly positions SpaceX as the seventh-largest company in the US.
The IPO represents a monumental windfall for long-term investors who were early backers of the Elon Musk-led startup.
Here's a list of some of them
# Ron Baron of Baron Capital - After investing $2 billion across 27 rounds starting at a $22 billion valuation in 2017, Baron’s stake is now worth nearly $12 billion. SpaceX currently accounts for 33% of the Baron Partners Fund and 23% of the Baron Asset Fund.
# Founders Fund By Peter Thiel - An early investor since 2008, the fund has turned a $600 million investment into a stake worth over $50 billion, representing a staggering 62,000% return on early capital.
# Alphabet - The Google-parent had made a $900 million investment during a Series F round in 2015. Today, that stake is worth $106 billion, which represents nearly 1-2% of Alphabet's MCAP. The investment is often referred to as Alphabet's "Hidden Asset".
# Fidelity Investments - A major participant across multiple rounds, including leading the 2020 Series I round, SpaceX now represents significant holdings in the Fidelity Contrafund (4.7%), BlueChip Fund (3.3%), and Growth Company Fund (2.6%). All of these funds manage anywhere between $100 billion to $150 billion in assets.
# Andressen Horowitz - The firm had led a Series J funding round in January 2023 at a valuation of $137 billion. In the next three years, that stake is now swelled 12x in value, in-line with the valuation expansion.
# ARK Invest - Cathie Wood's firm was also one of SpaceX's backers, having started investments since late-2023. SpaceX is now the largest holding in the ARK Venture Fund at 17.02%. Since the initial investment, the valuations of SpaceX have gone up by 730%.
# Ontario Teachers Pension Plan - Having invested around $200 million in 2019 through its latest investment vehicle, Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan is now sitting on a $11.6 billion windfall, and the SpaceX investment comprises nearly 4% of its $279 billion AUM.
# Washington University - The first investment made by them was over a decade ago in 2016-17 and was worth $50 million. Today, that investment is over 10% of the total endowment of around $17 billion, making it among the largest concentrated positions for any university.
Before the stock begins to trade, brokerages such as Oppenheimer have initiated coverage on SpaceX with an "outperform" rating and a price target of $190 over the next 12-18 months, stating that the company's diversified portfolio makes it attractive for investors.
New Street Research has also initiated coverage on SpaceX with a target of $165, stating that it views xAI as a $575 billion business.
* With the SpaceX Listing, Elon Musk will become the first trillionaire on the planet. His stake in SpaceX is worth $866.5 billion, along with Tesla's stake which is worth $320 billion. Musk also controls 82% of the voting power at SpaceX.

The Government of India raised import duty on gold and silver effective May 13, 2026.
What changed:
1. Basic Customs Duty (BCD) increased from 4.35% to 10% on gold and silver imports.
2. Agriculture Infrastructure and Development Cess (AIDC) is 5%.
3. Effective total import duty = 10% BCD + 5% AIDC = 15% 33ee
Before vs Now:
- Earlier: ∼6% effective duty. Was 5% BCD + 1% AIDC, later cut to 6% total in July 2024 to curb smuggling
- Now: 15% effective duty from May 13, 2026.
Why:
To curb imports, protect foreign exchange reserves, and support the rupee amid the West Asia crisis and oil price spike. Brent crude hit $105/bbl and rupee fell to ₹95.28/USD.
Impact:
1. Prices: Domestic gold/silver will get costlier as jewellers pass on the ∼9% hike.
2. Stocks: Jewellery stocks like Titan, Kalyan, Senco dropped 6-9% on the news.
3. Smuggling risk: Industry expects smuggling to rise again.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) left its key repo rate unchanged at 5.25% for the second straight meeting and maintained a neutral stance during its first monetary policy decision of fiscal year 2026/27, amid a weakening rupee and rising bond yields.
The decision was in line with market forecasts, as the Iran war threatened GDP growth and fueled inflationary pressures.
India’s annual inflation accelerated to 3.21% in February 2026 but remained within the RBI’s tolerance band of 2%–6%, while GDP grew 7.8% in the December quarter.
On the economic outlook, the RBI raised its GDP growth forecast for FY2025/26 to 7.6%, up from its earlier estimate of 7.4%, while inflation is expected to remain below the central bank's target of 4%.
Meanwhile, the GDP growth for FY26/27 is estimated at 6.9%.

MARKET REALITY CHECK: IT’S NOT YOUR PORTFOLIO… IT’S YOUR TEMPERAMENT ๐
Your Demat statement belongs to the market.
Your bank balance belongs to you. ๐ฐ
That green you saw earlier? ๐ Paper profit.
That red you’re seeing now? ๐ Paper loss.
Nothing… absolutely nothing… is real until you press the sell button. ๐
Let’s be honest for a moment ๐ค
Yes, portfolios are down. Mine too.
And no, staring at the screen every 5 minutes won’t make Nifty recover faster ๐
It will only: increase stress, ruin your mood, and make your family wonder what happened to you at dinner ๐๐
But here’s the reality check ๐๐
๐ 2008 Global Financial Crisis — markets crashed brutally… then created multi-year wealth ๐
๐ 2013 Taper Tantrum — panic everywhere… followed by strong recovery ๐
๐ 2020 COVID Crash — markets fell 30–40% in weeks… then hit all-time highs within months ๐ณ๐
๐ 2022 Inflation & Rate Hikes — fear peak… markets still bounced back ๐ช
Every time it felt like “this is different”…
Every time markets said — “Relax… I’ve seen worse.” ๐
๐ง THIS IS NOT JUST A MARKET PHASE… IT’S TRAINING ๐ง
Markets don’t create wealth easily. First… they test you.
They test your patience ⏳, conviction ๐ช, and emotional control ๐ง
Anyone can invest in a bull market… but only a few can stay invested in a falling one.
I’ve seen multiple such phases in my journey ๐
And yes… I’ve worried before too. I’m human ๐
But over time I realised something ๐
You don’t conquer the market… you learn to live with it.
And every time the cycle turned ๐, the same portfolio went on to create new highs ๐
๐ THE REAL GAME: MIND OVER MARKET ๐
Events create uncertainty ๐ but fear is created inside your mind.
The market doesn’t panic… people do.
So instead of reacting instantly ⚡️
Observe ๐, understand ๐ง , and guide your emotions calmly ๐ง
Because you are not your thoughts… you are the observer.
๐ฑ FINAL TRUTH: WEALTH IS BUILT INTERNALLY FIRST ๐ฑ
These phases are not here to break you ❌ they are here to upgrade you ✔️
They turn you from a short-term trader into a seasoned long-term investor ๐
So stay patient ⏳ stay aware ๐ stay grounded ๐ฟ
Because in the end…
It’s not the market, not the news, not the volatility…
It is your temperament that creates wealth. ๐ฐ๐ฅ
And remember ๐๐
Market goes down… heart rate goes up…
But history says — “This too shall pass.” ๐➡️๐

*๐ซต IRAN War teaches us big thing.*
The world is more Interconnected in war time than we can imagine
Let's look at it...
1️⃣ First, Understand what the *Strait of Hormuz* actually is.
It's a strip of water 21 nautical miles wide at its narrowest point.
That's it, 21 miles.
And through that 21-mile gap flows:
— 20% of all the world's oil. Every single day.
— 20% of the world's LNG (liquefied natural gas).
— 30% of the world's fertilizer exports.
— 30% of Europe's jet fuel supply.
20.9 million barrels per day.
That's the number, Shut that 21-mile gap and you don't just hurt three countries. But, the entire planet.
Now let me show you who is dependent on whom.
Who ships oil through Hormuz?
Saudi Arabia sends 37% of its exports through that strait.
Iraq sends 23%.
UAE sends 13%.
Iran sends 11%.
Kuwait sends 10%.
Five countries. 94% of all the oil moving through Hormuz.
Who RECEIVES that oil?
China: 38%.
India: 15%.
South Korea: 12%.
Japan: 11%.
84% of all Hormuz oil goes to Asia.
These four Asian economies — China, India, Japan, South Korea — are not in this war.
They didn't vote for it and start it.But,they are taking the hardest economic hit.
The story goes way beyond this though:
2️⃣. Japan.
Imports 90% of its energy.
The Nikkei dropped more than 5% in a single day when oil crossed $100.
Japan has a 150-day oil reserve.
The clock is ticking.
3️⃣. South Korea.
Imports 70% of its oil from the Gulf corridor.
KOSPI — their stock market — suffered its biggest single-day crash since the 2008 financial crisis. Dropped 12% in one day. Circuit breakers were triggered.
First time since 2008.Because of a war they had nothing to do with.
4️⃣. Europe.
Natural gas prices nearly doubled in 48 hours after Iran struck Qatar's gas facilities.
Why? Because 20% of global LNG supply flows from Qatar through Hormuz to Europe.
Shipping companies are now routing vessels around the Cape of Good Hope — adding 15 to 20 extra days of transit between Asia and Europe.
Every extra day = higher shipping cost.
Higher shipping cost = more expensive goods.
More expensive goods = inflation at your grocery store.
5️⃣. India.
Imports 2.5 million barrels per day through Hormuz.
India's LNG plants run on Persian Gulf gas.
And *India grows food — food the whole world eats* — using fertilizer that comes through Hormuz.
6️⃣. Oil - It's not just fuel, it's so much more than that.
*Oil is also food.*
Here's how :
The Gulf produces massive quantities of nitrogen fertilizer — urea, ammonia, phosphates.
Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Bahrain together produce 15 million metric tonnes of fertilizer every year.
Around 1/3 of ALL global fertilizer exports ship through Hormuz.
Nitrogen fertilizer, according to Bloomberg, underpins about half of global food production.
Without fertilizer — wheat yields fall.
Corn yields fall.
Rice yields fall.
A Cornell agricultural economist said: "Fertilizer prices were already high, and farmers were already pinched. This will hurt."
Urea prices jumped from $516 per metric ton to $683 in five days.
Wheat hit a near two-year high.
Palm oil surged 10%.
Soybeans up. Corn up.
A farmer in Lowa said: "If nitrogen doesn't come, we might switch more acres to beans."
Not because of anything he did.
Because a war started.
Here's the full chain — pay attention :
๐ Iran war →Hormuz disruption →fertilizer shipments blocked →farmers reduce crop applications →harvests fall →food prices rise →central banks raise rates →borrowing costs up →economic growth slows and *you pay more for everything.*
That chain starts in a 21-mile strait and ends in your shopping cart.
7️⃣. What about shipping?
150 ships stranded around Hormuz right now.
Insurance companies — who have never cancelled Gulf coverage in modern history — are now cancelling war risk coverage.
Hapag-Lloyd, one of the world's largest shipping companies, introduced a $1,500 per container war surcharge. Overnight.

The national debt just crossed $39 trillion—almost doubling since Trump vowed to erase it
The United States national debt crossed $39 trillion for the first time Tuesday, arriving at the grim milestone less than five months after it first hit $38 trillion in late October—a pace of accumulation that budget watchdogs and academic economists are now calling, with unusual unanimity, “unsustainable.”
The milestone, confirmed in Wednesday’s Daily Treasury Statement, lands amid a politically charged moment: it comes roughly two weeks before the ten-year anniversary of President Trump’s 2016 campaign promise to eliminate the national debt within eight years. Instead, the gross national debt has roughly doubled since Trump first took office—it was $19.9 trillion in January 2017.
“Our moral duty to the taxpayer requires us to make our Government leaner and more accountable,” President Trump wrote in March 2017, as he issued an executive order directing OMB Director Mick Mulvaney to submit a comprehensive plan to reorganize Executive Branch departments and agencies in order to keep his promise to put in place common sense reforms to eliminate waste so that the Government better serves all Americans. “We’re going to do more with less,” Trump said at the time.
“As America soars past $39 trillion in debt, we must recognize this alarming rate of growth and the significant financial burden we are putting on the next generation,” Michael A. Peterson, CEO of the Peter G. Peterson Foundation, told. “Borrowing trillion after trillion at this rapid pace with no plan in place is the definition of unsustainable.”
At the current rate of growth, the Peterson Foundation projects that the debt will hit $40 trillion before this fall’s elections—another trillion-dollar jump in roughly the same compressed timeframe. Michael Peterson called the figure “staggering.” The speed of accumulation has accelerated sharply: the debt added its latest trillion in what the foundation estimates is less than five months, a rate of fiscal expansion that has few modern precedents outside of wartime or acute financial crisis.
The milestone arrives as the Congressional Budget Office, in its February 2026 outlook, projected that the federal deficit will reach $1.9 trillion in fiscal year 2026 and swell to $3.1 trillion by 2036 under current law. Over that same decade, debt held by the public is projected to surge from 101% of GDP today to 120% of GDP by 2036, eclipsing the previous all-time record of 106% set just after World War II. The long-term picture is even bleaker: CBO’s extended baseline now shows debt rising to 175% of GDP over the next 30 years, according to the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget.
Perhaps the most alarming dimension of the crossing is what it costs just to carry the debt. Net interest payments on the national debt are projected to exceed $1 trillion in fiscal year 2026—nearly triple the $345 billion in interest the government paid in 2020, at the onset of the pandemic. In the first three months of the current fiscal year alone, net interest payments reached $270 billion, already surpassing the nation’s defense spending for the same period.
