Axis Bank: The private sector lender registered a massive 54 percent year-on-year growth in standalone profit at Rs 4,118 crore, largely driven by significant fall in provisions and improved asset quality performance for the quarter ended March 2022. Net interest income grew by 16.7 percent year-on-year to Rs 8,819 crore with credit growth of 15 percent and deposits growth of 19 percent for March 2022 quarter.
IIFL Finance: The company clocked nearly 30 percent year-on-year growth in consolidated profit at Rs 321 crore on healthy growth in topline and operating profit. Revenue from operations during the quarter grew by 16 percent to Rs 1,856.2 crore compared to the year-ago period.
Fineotex Chemical: Profit after tax of the group has increased by 42 percent year-on-year to Rs 17 crore on strong topline and operating income. Revenue rose by 62 percent YoY to Rs 121.4 crore in the quarter ended March 2022, and operating EBITDA surged 67 percent to Rs 21.52 crore in the same period.
Ambuja Cements: Profit fell sharply by 30.3 percent year-on-year to Rs 856.5 crore due to higher power & fuel cost and muted topline growth in the quarter ended March 2022. Revenue increased by 2.4 percent to Rs 7,900 crore during the same period.
Vedanta: Billionaire Anil Agarwal-owned Vedanta reported a 5 percent year-on-year decline in consolidated profit at Rs 7,261 crore in the quarter ended March 2022, impacted by higher tax cost and expenses, supported by healthy topline and operating income. Revenue during the quarter grew by 41 percent YoY to Rs 39,342 crore and there was highest ever quarterly EBITDA at Rs 13,768 crore in Q4FY22 which increased by 51 percent YoY, driven by higher volumes, operational efficiencies and supportive commodity prices. The company announced first interim dividend of Rs 31.5 per share for the financial year 2022-23.
Sterlite Technologies: The company in a BSE filing said the board has approved raising of funds up to Rs 1,000 crore.
Tata Power Company: The company has collaborated with National Real Estate Development Council to install 5,000 electric vehicle charging points across Maharashtra.

ICICI Bank: The country's second-largest private sector lender reported a 59.4 percent year-on-year growth in standalone profit at Rs 7,019 crore in quarter ended March 2022 due to a sharp fall in provisions and jump in operating profit. Net interest income grew by 21 percent YoY to Rs 12,604.6 crore in Q4FY22, which also supported profitability. The bank declared a dividend of Rs 5 a share.
RailTel Corporation of India: The state-owned telecom infrastructure provider received a work order from the Odisha government's electronics & information technology department. The company will do provisioning of secondary bandwidth and replacement of equipment along with the implementation of SDWAN for OSWAN project for five years at a cost of Rs 122.08 crore.
Tata Metaliks: The company recorded a 30 percent year-on-year decline in Q4FY22 profit at Rs 52.5 crore due to higher input costs but was supported by income from the sale of land in Maharashtra. However, revenue increased 22 percent to Rs 808 crore from the year-ago quarter.
Tejas Networks: The telecom and networking products maker posted a loss of Rs 49.62 crore in the quarter ended March 2022 against a profit of Rs 33.55 crore in the year-ago period due to lower revenue growth. Revenue fell sharply by 37 percent to Rs 126.5 crore against Rs 201.5 crore during the period due to global chip supply shortages but sequentially increased 18 percent. The company continued to see a positive business momentum, with an order inflow of Rs 316 crore during the quarter, taking the total order book to an all-time high of Rs 1,175 crore.
Aditya Birla Money: Profit more than doubled to Rs 7.62 crore in the March quarter, up from Rs 3.68 crore in the same period of the previous year. Revenue increased 23.2 percent to Rs 60.4 crore year-on-year, driven by broking business that contributed 87 percent to the kitty.
Hindustan Zinc: The company clocked an 18 percent year-on-year growth in consolidated profit at Rs 2,928 crore in Q4FY22 driven by higher revenue and healthy operating income and margin. Revenue during the quarter grew by 26.6 percent YoY to Rs 8,797, largely led by the zinc business that increased 51 percent YoY.
Future Retail and Reliance Industries: The $3.4 billion deal to take over the retail assets of Future Retail (FRL) cannot be implemented as the company's secured creditors have "voted against the scheme", Reliance Industries told the stock exchanges

Tata Communications: Profit in Q4FY22 grew by 23.2 percent YoY to Rs 369 crore on higher other income. Revenue grew by 4.6 percent to Rs 4,263 crore in same period driven by data services segment, which contributed the maximum to revenue. The board has recommended a dividend of Rs 20.7 per share for the year, as a result of the company reporting strong profitability.
HCL Technologies: The IT services company recorded a 4.4 percent sequential growth in profit at Rs 3,593 crore and 1.2 percent QoQ growth in revenue at Rs 22,597 crore, but earnings before interest & tax fell 4.4 percent QoQ to Rs 4,069 crore. The dollar revenue growth was half a percent QoQ at $2,993 million and revenue in constant currency showed 1.1 percent increase QoQ. The company reported total contract value (TCV) of new deal wins at $2,260 million for Q4, registering 6 percent QoQ growth, and has declared a dividend of Rs 18 per share.
ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company: The company reported 9.6 percent year-on-year decline in profit at Rs 312.5 crore, but net premium earned during the quarter jumped 27 percent to Rs 3,318 crore and total income grew by 33 percent to Rs 4,636 crore compared to year-ago period. Even operating profit surged 29 percent YoY to Rs 1,009.6 crore during the quarter.
TVS Motor Company: The company announced an additional investment of 100 million pound in Norton Motorcycle, Britain's most iconic sporting motorcycle brand. Norton Motorcycle was acquired in April 2020.
RailTel Corporation of India: The company has received work order from National Informatics Centre Services. National Informatics Centre Services was incorporated in relation to assignment of work of immigration visa and foreigner registration & tracking. The work order was worth Rs 29.75 crore.
JSW Energy: Subsidiary JSW Neo Energy (JSWNEL) is going to set up 1,500 MW capacity of hydro pumped storage project (PSPs) - Komoram Bheem Pumped Storage Project, in Telangana. The company has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the state government, for the said project. With the said project, the company has tied-up resources for 5 GW hydro PSPs with the governments of various states (Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and Rajasthan).
L&T Technology Services: The IT company clocked 5.3 percent sequential growth in profit at Rs 262 crore on better EBIT that grew by 4.1 percent with flat margin at 18.6 percent QoQ, while revenue increased 4.1 percent to Rs 1,756.1 crore compared to previous quarter. North America, Europe and India supported revenue growth, but Rest of World segment reported 1.6 percent sequential decline in Q4. It has bagged $100 million+ electric air mobility program from Jaunt Air Mobility. It will open an engineering and R&D centre in Québec Province for the next-gen electric aircraft manufacturer to provide engineering services for the Jaunt Journey eVTOL (electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing) air taxi.

Tata Elxsi: The design and technology services provider clocked 39 percent year-on-year growth in Q4FY22 profit at Rs 160 crore on healthy growth in revenue that increased 31.5 percent YoY to Rs 682 crore backed by strong double-digit growth in transportation, media and communications, and healthcare segments. EBITDA grew by 32 percent YoY to Rs 221.2 crore in the March quarter.
Persistent Systems: Kotak Mahindra Mutual Fund bought additional 21,566 equity shares in the IT company via open market transactions on April 18. With this, Kotak MF's shareholding in the company stands increased to 5 percent, up from 4.97 percent earlier.
Infosys: The bluechip IT company has completed the acquisition of Germany-based digital experience and marketing agency, oddity.
Ambalal Sarabhai Enterprises: CoSara Diagnostics got permission to manufacture and sell its SARAQ Hepatitis C (HCV) viral load kit as an in vitro diagnostic (IVD) from Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation. CoSara is a joint venture of a subsidiary of Ambalal Sarabhai Enterprises, and Co-Diagnostics, Inc, USA.
Everest Kanto Cylinder: Subsidiary EKC International FZE (Dubai) has entered into a joint venture agreement with Dr. Mohamed Saad Eldin. The company intends to become the market leader in CNG cylinder manufacturing in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region by 2026 leveraging on the strong track record and the know-how of EKC International Dubai and the high potential in the Egyptian and African markets.
Atul Auto: The company joined hands with Valeo and Honda Power Pack Energy India for electric vehicles with battery swapping solutions. Subsidiary Atul Greentech (AGPL), engaged in designing and developing innovative solutions for last-mile electric mobility for domestic and export markets, would launch the e-vehicle after the successful completion of field trials.

Investors will be paying close attention to forward guidance, especially for comments on how companies are handling surging costs. March’s consumer price index reading released last week showed an 8.5% increase from a year ago, the fastest annual gain since December 1981
“The odds seem to be long against underlying inflation moderating to an acceptable pace without a significant deceleration of demand growth,” 22V Research’s Gerard MacDonell said in a note Sunday.
Earnings season is off to a decent start with 77% of S&P 500 companies reporting earnings per share above expectations according to FactSet. Seven percent of the benchmark has reported results so far. Analysts believe first-quarter earnings will jump 5% for the quarter when all S&P 500 companies finish reporting, according to FactSet’s analysis of actual results and future estimates.
Our belief remains that 2022E EPS likely comes down a bit through earnings season, but likely less than we would have thought a month ago. And the more U.S.-centric and more services-centric the company, the better the EPS outlook is likely to be,” Raymond James’ Tavis McCourt said in a Sunday note.
Despite some better-than-expected results, investors sold stocks last week as they feared higher rates and inflation could darken the outlook for earnings. The S&P 500 fell 2.13% for its second negative week in a row. The Nasdaq Composite lost 2.63%, and the Dow fell 0.8% on the period. U.S. stocks did not trade Friday due to the holiday weekend.
The 10-year Treasury yield last week touched the highest levels in three years above 2.83%, which is weighing on stocks.

HDFC Bank: Profit in Q4 grew 22.8 percent to Rs 10,055.2 crore YoY as provisions declined 29.4 percent in the same period. Net interest income rose 10.2 percent to Rs 18,873 crore, with credit growth of 20.8 percent and a deposits growth of 16.8 percent YoY. Asset quality improved with gross non-performing assets falling 9 bps sequentially to 1.17 percent and net NPAs declining 5 bps QoQ to 0.32 percent in the March quarter.
Infosys: The country's second-largest IT services company recorded lower-than-expected earnings growth in March 2022 quarter, with profit falling 2.1 percent sequentially to Rs 5,686 crore on lower-than-expected revenue growth (up 1.3 percent QoQ) and a fall in operating margin, and dollar revenue growth of seven-tenth of a percent QoQ at $4,280 million. However, the revenue growth guidance for the current financial year at 13-15 percent over the previous year exceeded analysts' expectations, with operating profit margin forecast in the range of 21-23 percent.
Windlas Biotech: The company received a certificate of good manufacturing practices (GMP) from the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority. The company had undergone an inspection-audit during September 20-29, 2021. Windlas can now start manufacturing and sell its products in South Africa market. The company also received zero critical observations for its plant-IV at Dehradun after European Union GMP inspection carried out by the National Institute of Pharmacy and Nutrition, Hungary during April 11-13.
UltraTech Cement: Its UAE subsidiary, UltraTech Cement Middle East Investments (UCMEIL), has picked up a 29.39 percent stake in RAK Cement Company for White Cement and Construction Materials PSC (RAKWCT), a listed entity on Abu Dhabi and Kuwait stock exchanges. This is a strategic investment and the acquisition cost will be $101.1 million.
Alkem Laboratories: The pharma company's Taloja unit has been cleared by the US health regulator as the unit has not received “Form 483” after inspection. The US FDA inspected the company's bioequivalence centre at Taloja in Maharashtra during April 11-14.
Tata Power: BlackRock Real Assets, together with Mubadala, will invest Rs 4,000 crore ($525 million) for a 10.53 percent stake in the company's subsidiary Tata Power Renewables. The investment has taken a base equity valuation of the subsidiary to Rs 34,000 crore.
Mahindra & Mahindra: The company has hiked the price of its vehicles by 2.5 percent. The price revision is a result of a continuous increase in prices of key commodities such as steel, aluminium and palladium, the company said.
Jubilant Ingrevia: The company has received CDMO contract worth Rs 270 crore in specialty chemicals business from an "international customer". The contract is for three years. The company will supply two key GMP intermediates for one of the “patented drugs” of the innovator pharmaceutical customer. Commercial supplies of both these products will start from FY23.

Stock futures fell Sunday evening as investors braced for a week of major first-quarter earnings reports ahead.
Futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average lost about 150 points, or 0.4%. S&P 500 futures shed 0.5%. Nasdaq futures were lower by 0.8%.
Bank of America reports quarterly results Monday before the bell. Several Dow blue-chip names report earnings this week, including IBM, Procter and Gamble, Travelers, Dow Inc, Johnson and Johnson, American Express and Verizon.
Technology bellwethers are also set to report quarterly earnings, with Netflix due on Tuesday and Tesla out on Wednesday. Snap reports Thursday. United Airlines, American Airlines and Alaska Air are also on the calendar, as are railroads CSX and Union Pacific.

Godrej Consumer Products: In India, the company expects to deliver close to double-digit sales growth in Q4FY22, driven entirely by pricing. Personal Care sustained its double-digit growth trajectory, primarily led by pricing in Personal Wash, while Home Care witnessed a soft performance on a high base, impacted by a relatively muted season for home insecticides and the discretionary nature of air fresheners. In Godrej Africa, USA and Middle East, it continued growth momentum across most of key countries of operations and expects to deliver a constant currency sales growth close to the mid-teens.
Motherson Sumi Systems: The company has completed acquisition of a 55 percent stake in CIM Tools Private Limited, one of the leading suppliers in aerospace supply chain based in Bengaluru. CIM in turn holds 83 percent in Aero Treatment (ATPL) and 49.99 percent in Lauak CIM Aerospace (JV with Lauak International, LCA). The three founders, Srikanth GS, Umesh AS and Vishwanath Deshpande, retain the remaining 45 percent stake in CIM. Since the initial announcement in October 2021, CIM's order book has grown 26 percent to $252 million.
IDFC: IDFC and a consortium comprising Bandhan Financial Holdings, GIC and ChrysCapital have entered into a definitive agreement to acquire IDFC Asset Management Company and IDFC AMC Trustee Company, from IDFC, for Rs 4,500 crore. The company has declared an interim dividend of Re 1 per equity share.
Asian Granito India: The company in its BSE filing said its Rs 441 crore Rights issue will open for eligible shareholders on April 25. The company has fixed April 12 as record date for the purpose of determining the equity shareholders eligible to receive the rights entitlement in the rights issue. Tata Steel: Tata Steel India achieved highest-ever annual crude steel production of 19.06 million tons, with a growth of 13 percent YoY despite the COVID 2nd wave related disruption early in the financial year. Tata Steel India deliveries increased by 6 percent YoY in FY22, surpassing the previous best recorded in FY21. Tata Steel Europe steel production in FY22 grew by 6 percent YoY and total deliveries increased by 2 percent YoY, driven by broad-based improvement in most steel consuming sectors.
Tata Steel Long Products: Its crude steel production grew by 6 percent YoY in FY22, despite the disruption caused by COVID 2nd wave and shutdown of one of the blast furnaces for few weeks during Q4FY22. Steel sales volumes have increased by 2 percent YoY in FY22, with a higher share of rolled product sales enabled by customer approval and continued mix enrichment.
Rain Industries: Due to a lower allocation of raw petroleum coke (RPC) by Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) for FY23 than in the previous years, the lack of sufficient raw materials has now reached a level necessitating that subsidiary RAIN shuts down one Kiln, until further notice. Subsidiary Rain CM Carbon (Vizag) (RAIN) is facing RPC shortfall to the tune of 40 percent. Apart from calcined petroleum coke (CPC), the shutdown of RAIN's Kiln will also result into net loss of 20 MW of waste-heat power generation to the grid. RAIN has two Kilns for manufacture of CPC at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
Tata Power Company: Resurgent Power Ventures, co-sponsored by Tata Power and ICICI Bank and has other global reputed investors, has completed acquisition of NRSS XXXVI Transmission, a special purpose vehicle to establish and operate transmission system in Northern Region along with LILO of SikarNeemrana 400kV D/C line at Babaion on build-own-operate-maintain (BOOM) basis. Resurgent Power Ventures was set up to acquire stressed assets in the Indian Power Sector.
TVS Motor Company: The company and Jio-bp have agreed to explore the creation of a robust public electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure for electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers in the country, building on Jio-bp's growing network in this space. Under this proposed partnership, the customers of TVS electric vehicles are expected to get access to the widespread charging network of Jio-bp, which is also open to other vehicles.
Marico: The FMCG company in its BSE filing said revenue growth in Q4FY22 was in low single digits, while volumes were marginally positive on an exceptionally high base (25 percent), leading to a double-digit volume growth on a 2-year CAGR basis. Parachute Coconut Oil volumes were marginally lower year-on-year, mainly due to a daunting base (29 percent). Value Added Hair Oils grew in low single digits in value terms. The International business delivered double-digit constant currency growth on a strong base, with all markets faring well. Consolidated revenue growth in the quarter touched high-single digits.
Tata Consultancy Services: Kansas Department of Labour (KDOL) has selected TCS to build a modern, secure, web-based system for the state's unemployment insurance program. This will help transforming a legacy mainframe platform from the 1970s into a cloud-based system that dramatically improves the delivery of services to Kansas residents.
