*Read Bhagavadgita whenever you are in confusion and u will get a solution*...

Read this whenever u are confused abt the stock market and u will get answers....

80% of gains come in 20% of time. So an investor needs enormous patience and conviction to hold stocks or Mutual funds for 10 or 20 years.

Why not all investors get rich? They like to get rich without going through many years of discipline & patience. Process leads to outcome.

An inferior strategy you can stick with is likely to produce better results than a superior strategy you cannot stick with.

Prices change frequently. Value change over a period of time. There lies the opportunity.

Compounding is back loaded. It works well only over a longer period of time. There is no substitute for time in compounding.

99% of the time, doing nothing is the best thing to do in the market. It is good to be a Rip Van Winkle investor. Activity hurts. Sit still.

You cannot predict or control markets. What you can control is how much you save, investment process and behaviour. Focus only on that.

Random outcome doesn’t invalidate the need for a process. Sound process and consistently sticking to the same increases the chance of luck.

Investors are human. That’s why markets would never be fully efficient.

Markets usually run ahead or fall behind. Rarely in equilibrium. Over or under valuation can last for long time. Don’t time the market.

Buying and selling is easy. It is holding on through ups and downs is difficult but ultimately most rewarding.

Tiny drops of water make the mighty ocean. Invest regularly. Invest for long term. You can create huge wealth.

Not investing in equity is more risky than investing in it. Remember, you need to beat the inflation and retain your purchasing power.

We see past bear markets as missed opportunities. However thinking of future bear markets is gut wrenching. Strange investor psyche.

If someone keeps reviewing value of his house every day, we may suspect his mental health. But that’s what we keep doing with our equities.

Equity investments are subject to behaviour risks. Always keep a check on your emotions while investing.

*Happy Longterm Investing*

@AlliesFin Serve T.ME/ALLiESFiN's Post

Air Commodore Vishal was a Jet Pilot. In a combat mission his fighter plane was destroyed by a missile. He however ejected himself and parachuted safely. He won acclaims and appreciations from many.

After five years one day he was sitting with his wife in a restaurant. A man from another table came to him and said "You're Captain Vishal ! You flew jet fighters. You were shot down!"

"How in the world did you know that?" asked Vishal.

"I packed your parachute," the man smiled and replied.
Vishal gasped in surprise and gratitude and thought if parachute hadn't worked, I wouldn’t be here today.

Vishal couldn't sleep that night, thinking about that man. He wondered how many times I might have seen him and not even said 'Good morning, how are you?' or anything because, he was a fighter pilot and that person was just a safety worker"

So friends, who is packing your parachute?

Everyone has someone who provides what they need to make it through the day.

We need many kinds of parachutes - we need the physical parachute, the mental parachute, the emotional parachute, and the spiritual parachute.
We call on all these supports before reaching safety.

Sometimes in the daily challenges that life gives us, we miss what is really important.

We may fail to say hello, please, or thank you, congratulate someone on something wonderful that has happened to them, give a compliment, or just do something nice for no reason.

As you go through this week, this month, this year, recognize the people who pack your parachute.

*I just want to thank everyone who packed my parachute this year one way or the other*- through your words, deeds, prayers etc!! Don't want to take any of you for granted

From the bottom of my heart with all my love

Wishing you a pleasant and a memorable end to 2019 and an awesome beginning to 2020

Point of finance management view...

While writing a date in upcoming year 2020 , we should write in its full format, e.g. 31/01/2020 and not as 31/01/20 because anyone can change it to 31/01/2000 or 31/01/2019 or in between any year to his convenience.

This issue of Alertness will persist only this year.

So be cautious about this. Don't write and also don't accept it while receiving any documents.

Prevention is better than cure.

The number of Americans who applied for unemployment benefits at the end of November fell to the lowest level in seven months and returned close to a 50-year low, but the sharp decline in jobless claims likely stems in part from the Thanksgiving holiday.

*U.S factory orders rose 0.3% in October, the Commerce Department said Thursday, for the first gain in three months.
The market now awaits the monthly U.S. Labor Department report on payrolls and unemployment due Friday. The MarketWatch consensus forecast is for a gain of 180,000 jobs in November.*

Traders also awaited Friday’s U.S. jobs report, which may signal that both the labor market and consumers remain buoyant enough to sustain the expansion. That would validate Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell’s view that rates can stay on hold following three cuts. But it could also reduce the urgency for a deal with China, given that escalating levies have so far failed to significantly dent employment.

“Should the jobs report come in reasonably healthy and the trade negotiations keep moving forward, December will also likely be a better month than the headlines at the start of the month suggested,” Brad McMillan, chief investment officer at Commonwealth Financial Network, said. “December is historically a strong month for markets, and a Santa Claus rally remains possible, despite the volatility at the start of the month.

Elsewhere, oil swung between gains and losses as OPEC reached an agreement that adjusts its official production targets, but removes few barrels from a market that’s forecast to return to surplus early next year.

OPEC and its allies have recommended cutting production by 500,000 barrels a day, on top of the current output-cut agreement, ahead of the official gatherings of major oil producers in Vienna over the next two days.

Nike Inc gained 2.2% following Goldman Sachs’ upgrade of the sportswear maker’s stock to “buy” from “neutral.”

Volume on U.S. exchanges was 6.42 billion shares, compared with the 6.71 billion average over the last 20 trading days.

Here are some key events coming up this week :

• U.S. Labor Department figures are set to show Friday that 184,000 workers were added to nonfarm payrolls last month -- one of the highest estimates this year ahead of a jobs report.

Currencies :

• The Bloomberg Dollar Spot Index declined 0.2%.

• The euro climbed 0.2% to $1.1098.

• The Japanese yen strengthened 0.1% to 108.77 per dollar.

• Germany’s 10-year yield advanced two basis points to -0.29%.

U.S. stocks fluctuated as investors weighed the chances that the Trump administration will scrap a tariff hike on Chinese goods scheduled for Dec. 15 and investors digested strong employment data. Treasuries and the dollar declined.: Bloomberg

U.S. stocks recovered from a morning slide and moved higher to close in the black on Thursday as investors remained optimistic about prospects for a U.S.-China trade deal despite a looming deadline for the imposition of fresh import tariffs by President Donald Trump.: MW

As of Thursday’s close, all three indexes will still close at the week lower: the Dow is still on track to decline 1.3%, the S&P 500 is poised for a 0.7% skid, and the Nasdaq Composite will see a decline of 1.1%.

The S&P 500 Index was almost flat after a news report that the U.S. and China remained at odds over the value of farm purchases. Equities briefly rose after President Donald Trump’s remarks that negotiations with China were “moving along well.” Treasury yields climbed as data showed U.S. jobless claims slumped to a seven-month low, signaling resilience in the labor market ahead of Friday’s jobs report. Oil got whipsawed as OPEC ministers gathered to discuss output cuts.

Tech stocks led all three major U.S. stock averages marginally into the black following upbeat statements from President Donald Trump and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin that the U.S.-China trade negotiations are “on track” and “going well.”

China and the U.S. have 10 days to reach a trade deal before additional U.S. tariffs on Chinese goods take effect. Those levies would target an additional $156 billion in Chinese goods.

Trump said Thursday that something could happen regarding those tariffs, but added they are not discussing that yet. He also reiterated that trade talks between the two countries were going well.

Investors are still optimistic about a U.S. - China trade deal after a spokesman for China’s Ministry of Commerce, Gao Feng, said at a weekly briefing on Thursday that negotiations toward a so-called phase-one pact to cease tariff hostilities between the world’s largest economies are progressing. However, Feng emphasized that China wants a rollback of existing tariffs to be included as a part of any resolution.

But as the Wall Street Journal reported Thursday, the value of the farm goods China will buy from the U.S. is still an issue. President Trump is said to want a $40 to $50 billion a year pace of purchasing, twice as much as China bought before the trade war began in 2018.

Market participants appeared to shrug off the drama unfolding in Washington as the U.S. House of Representatives prepared to draft articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump.

In U.S. economic data, the nation’s trade deficit dropped almost 8% in October to a 16-month low, largely because of lower imports from China, but the U.S. is on track to record the biggest annual trade deficit in 11 years despite President Trump’s trade war with China.

News and Impact
Expect market to open on a negative note on account of weak global cues. US Dow Jones slipped 1% after the Trump administration signaling the U.S. plans to move forward with tariffs on Chinese goods if no deal is reached before the mid-December deadline. Asian markets like Nikkei, Hong Kong and yesterday European markets slipped 1% after the Chinese state media said Tuesday the government would soon publish a list of “unreliable entities” that could lead to sanctions against American companies. Meantime, France said the European Union would retaliate if the U.S. follows through on a threat to hit about $2.4 billion of French products with levies.
Traders apply caution in the market. Trade deal with US is now spread out not only in China but also Brazil, Argentina and other European Countries. However, domestic cues remain strong on account of government reforms and good quarterly results. FIIs were net sellers over Rs1000cr yesterday and Rs4500cr net sellers in the last three trading sessions. Currently SGX Nifty declined by 41 points or 0.3%.
